About the William Knox Holt PlanetariumThe staff of the William K. Holt Planetarium have developed an international reputation as leaders in the design of audience-participation planetarium programs. Equipment includes two Sky-Skan definiti PD digital fulldome projectors, a 6.8 meter dome and 27 comfortable seats with reclining backs. There is also a modest sound system with two speakers, a mixer, and CD player. The definiti projectors, installed in March 2008, give the Holt Planetarium digital fulldome capability, allowing images and other visuals to be seen anywhere on the dome. Visitors can see the sky from anywhere and any time on Earth, and even “leave” Earth and “fly” throughout the Universe. |
