Coordinator of Public Programs IV


Salary Range: $59,000 - $65,200

Duties and Responsibilities: The appointee will fill the position of Project Manager for a variety of professional development, research and evaluation projects. Over time, the projects will likely change as some come to conclusion and others begin. The appointee will: help design and coordinate project development and evaluation studies and activities; manage science education and professional development projects; facilitate communication and collaborations with partner organizations, project participants and evaluators; consult with external groups in the design of science education programs and evaluation studies; prepare reports to participants and funders; develop and administer surveys; support the development funding proposals in collaboration with staff from LHS and other institutions; present and publish research results; and foster partnerships with teachers, school staff, district personnel, and partner organizations. In addition, the appointee will also participate, as needed, in research and evaluation (design, data collection, analysis) of additional projects in the REA portfolio.

Qualifications REQUIRED (Degree, field, and professional experience): PhD or equivalent experience in science education, education, or related field.  Knowledge of current science education theory and literature. Ability to manage multiple projects and project partners. Project management experience.  Experience coordinating science education projects in K-12 public school settings.  Experience working with public school district personnel, school principals, teachers, and students.  Data collection, management, and analysis experience. Experience collaborating with research and evaluation partners. Excellent written and oral communication skills.   Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team. Experience working in the following districts preferred: Newark, Novato, Palo Alto, and Petaluma
