Rat Rumors

by TEAMS Intern
Daniel F.

Many people have come to believe that rats are dirty, disease ridden, and bite easily. We associate them with garbage cans and seedy docks. We despise them.

Human scientific medical research would halt if not for the rat. Without rats, medical research wouldn't have many test subjects, and the release of new medicine would be greatly depreciated. The rat is very similar to ourselves in anatomy.

In this short essay, I hope to have banished some of your dark thoughts about rats. Rats are useful. Rats do make good pets. Rats rarely bite. Rats, not dogs, should be man's best friend.

Long live the rats.
