Teacher Professional Development
The Ocean Immersion™ Month is a special occasion for teachers to try a variety of different strategies and approaches as they field-test a new curriculum. The Ocean Immersion™ Leadership Institute, the Ocean Immersion™ Resources website, and whole-school immersion events are all designed to support teachers' success at implementing this coordinated, thematic program.
Parents in the classroom provide more adults in the room, supporting teachers' efforts to provide hands-on learning opportunities.
Teachers also discover professional development opportunities offered by local informal science education groups.
By sharing with each other what they are learning, the teachers in a school proactively enhance the quality of their working environment.
