Seafood Watch
Program Partnership
Informed decisions on the seafood you choose to eat can have profound
effects on the survival of that particular seafood industry and ultimately
the survival of that species. To help educate people in making informed
decisions, the Lawrence Hall of Science has partnered
with
the Monterey
Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch Program. Our partnership allows
us to distribute regional and national Seafood Watch guides to over
250,000 LHS visitors
each year as well as to schools, teachers and students involved
in the MARE program.
In addition to educational programs developed by MARE addressing
sustainable seafood, the Lawrence Hall of Science exhibit Forces
That Shape the Bay also educates the public on important resource
issues impacting the San Francisco Bay. The LHS outreach festival The
Bay and You allows students of all ages to learn how human impact
has positive and negative effects on marine life.

seafood.

One Ocean for exciting,
hands-on curriculum focusing on sustainable fisheries.
