Celebrate the International Year of Astronomy with LHS!
Four hundred years ago, Galileo aimed the first telescope at the sky. The world is celebrating his vision with International Year of Astronomy! LHS is part of the party.
On-going Celebration:
Planetarium Shows: What's going on up there? For intimate shows on what you can see (constellations) to what you can't see (dark matter) and stops in-between, visit our planetarium today!
Idea Lab Activities: Get on star time by making a star clock and other hands-on astronomy tools at the Idea Lab Activity Station on Saturdays and Sundays.
Stargazing on the Plaza: See the sky from one of the most beautiful spots in the Bay Area and talk to volunteer astronomers. We hold FREE stargazing nights twice-a-month with telescopes provided.
Birthday Parties: Take your friends on a special journey with a birthday party in our intimate planetarium!
COMING in FALL 2009:
Facing Mars: Would you survive the journey? Opens October 3. Would you travel to Mars? Explore the challenges and rewards of a journey to Mars in this hands-on exhibit. Experience what it would be like to walk on Mars. Build and launch your own rockets. Test your ability to solve problems in space.
Facing Mars was designed and built by the Ontario Science Centre, Ontario, Canada
